CLINICAL COACHING AND COUNSELING WORK
Justin Jacques, Ph.D. began Human Theory Group in 2019. He is a counselor educator with over 20 years mental health experience. He is a skilled general clinical coach with special expertise in the treatment of college students, veteran populations, athletes, gifted and talented students, ADHD, trauma, autism, mood, and anxiety disorders. He provides individual coaching for adolescents, and adults. Dr. Jacques completed his master’s degree at in Counseling Psychology at the University of Colorado at Denver in 2005, his education specialist degree in counseling from the George Washington University in 2019, and his Ph.D. in Counseling at Oregon State University in 2022. Dr. Jacques is able to provide specialized treatment services for medical professionals, nursing professionals, scientists, and athletes. His primary therapeutic approach is based on humanistic, person centered, and cognitive-behavioral theory and research. His professional experiences include clinical work in residential treatment, employee assistance programs, peer diversion programs, college counseling centers, and working with Ph.D. students in science and medicine. His research interests focus on athletes, veterans, the therapeutic alliance, and the use of technology in counseling.


CONSULTING WORK
Dr. Jacques has provided behavioral health consultation for universities, for-profit, and nonprofit organizations. He has also provided coaching, consultation, and counseling for organizational leaders when implementing an organizational change related to a behavioral health or primary care setting. Specifically, Dr. Jacques specializes in the design and implementation of the stepped-care model in a standalone behavioral health care center or an integrated primary care/ integrated behavioral health setting.
